Thomas George, D.M.D., F.A.G.D.
Thomas E. George, D.M.D., F.A.G.D., graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in 1984. After completing a two-year General Practice Residency at the University of Pennsylvania, he remained at the Dental School as full-time faculty for two years.
Dr. George went on to become Director of the General Practice Residency in advanced dental training at the Graduate Hospital in Philadelphia where he taught for thirteen years, while also maintaining a private practice.
Dr. George is a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry and maintains a cosmetic and general dentistry practice with an emphasis on advanced dental esthetics. Along with his wife Cheryl, Dr. George is co-owner and co-founder of demė.
Aside from basic restorative dentistry, Dr. George performs a wide range of cosmetic dental procedures, including porcelain veneers, implants, various teeth whitening processes, non-metal restorations and removable prostheses, smile evaluations, and aesthetic sculpting as well as emergency services, root canals, non-surgical and surgical periodontics, oral surgery, and oral medicine.
Mehrdad Soheili, D.D.S., D.M.D.
Dr. Mehrdad Soheili brings compassion, respect, empathy, and uncompromising expertise to every patient for any procedure, big or small. Dr Soheili completed a rigorous dual specialty residency training program at the University of Pennsylvania-a prestigious IVY league grad school- where he earned dual certificates in both Periodontics / Implantology and Periodontal Prosthesis (Advanced Fixed Prosthodontics, Cosmetic dentistry.) This combined dual specialty residency program is the only one in the world, that truly combines multiple-disciplines in dentistry (cosmetic, restorative & periodontics, implant dentistry.)
Dr Soheili is a mentor and a respected leader in his field and serves as clinical assistant professor at the University of Pennsylvania, in the periodontal-prosthesis, and periodontics & implantology residency(post doctoral) programs. He mentors and teaches postdoctoral residents in clinical care and research methodology. His areas of research include treatment of teeth affected by traumatic jaw fractures as well as the development of new diagnostic protocols within the periodontic specialty, and efficacy of slow releasing local antibiotics on the healing of Periodontitis

In addition to his private practice and academic career, Dr Soheili is an ancient coin enthusiast and visual artist, gently and carefully creating and restoring works of art. Dr Soheili is also a martial artist, Silver Medal winning in the National Karate Championship in Iran as part of the National Karate Team.
Susan Almusa, D.D.S.
Susan Almusa received her D.D.S. degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI. Dr. Almusa further completed her prosthodontics training at the University of Michigan and VA Medical Center. Following her Prosthodontic residency, Dr. Almusa completed a fellowship at the University of Maryland in implant dentistry.
Dr. Almusa is a current member of the American College of prosthodontists and Academy of Osseointegration.
She enjoys all facets of dentistry with an emphasis in implant and aesthetic dentistry.
Dr. Almusa is bilingual, speaking both English and Arabic.
Amy James, D.M.D., M.S., P.A.
Dr. James is a board-certified Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and has been running her own practice in South Jersey where she utilizes the latest technological advances in the industry. Her top priority is providing patients with friendly, comfortable care that is specialized to each individual’s needs, and she prides herself on providing the highest quality orthodontic care to each patient.
Dr. James is a faculty member at Temple University Kornberg School of Dentistry in the Graduate Department of Orthodontics. She is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Mid-Atlantic Society of Orthodontists, New Jersey Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, New Jersey Dental Association, Southern Dental Society of New Jersey, Cooper Hospital Regional Craniofacial and Cleft Palate Team, and the Charles H. Tweed International Foundation for Orthodontic Research. She is also one of several international instructors for the Tweed Foundation.
After graduating cum laude from Dickinson College, Dr. James received her Doctorate in Dental Medicine from the University of Pennsylvania and her Orthodontic Certificate of Specialty and Master of Science in Oral Biology from Temple University. She completed a one-year hospital-based general practice residency in San Francisco, a two-year commitment as a general dentist, and a two-year orthodontic residency before opening her practice in both Haddonfield and the Long Beach Island area in New Jersey.
Dr. James is an active member of Rotary International and travels with Rotaplast to third-world countries working with a team of specialists to perform cleft lip and palate surgeries and reconstructions. She has traveled to China as an Orthodontic delegate with People to People and has lectured to the General Dental residents at UMDNJ.
Kristine D’Ancona, Licensed Dental and Medical Assistant
Kristine D’Ancona has been working as a dental assistant for demė’s co-founder and director of dental care, Dr. Thomas George, since 1997–11 years before demė opened its doors in Center City and on The Main Line, when Dr. George maintained his well-known and -reputed private practice. Loyal and naturally warm to patients both long-term and new, she is licensed to take dental X-rays.
Melinda Sampson, RDH
Melinda graduated from The Community College of Philadelphia in 2004. Her primary focus is achieving optimal dental health through patient education and state-of-the-art dental treatment.
Melinda resides in Philadelphia with her husband and two children. They enjoy the outdoors in the Pocono mountains and Jersey shore.
Julie Williston, RDH
Julie graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Dental Hygiene Education from the University of Pittsburgh in 2019. She is also licensed to administer local anesthesia. Julie strives to optimize patients’ oral health through personalized treatment plans and education. She enjoys establishing relationships with her patients to create a comfortable atmosphere and experience in the dental office. In Julie’s personal time, she enjoys fitness, cooking, Philadelphia’s restaurant scene, and spending time with friends and family.
